Precy is made by Criers. Using it means agreeing to this page.
Precy keeps track of what you are reading. It is provided as it is, without warranty. It is a reading companion, not a reference work. Anything it reads off a cover, finds in a catalogue or explains about a word is a starting point you should check, and it can be wrong.
Your books, photographs, notes and recaps are yours. They stay on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud database. We neither hold them nor claim any right to them, and we have no server that could. Keeping them is your responsibility: iCloud is a sync, not a guaranteed backup, and deleting the app deletes the copy on that device. Precy can export your library to a file you keep, and keeping your own copy of anything you would hate to lose is always worth doing.
Definitions come from Wiktionary and are used under CC BY-SA 4.0; each keeps a link back to the page it came from. Book details come from Open Library and Google Books, subject to their terms. Pronunciation comes from the Free Dictionary API. These are other people's services and may change or stop; Precy works without them, with less filled in for you.
Precy is free to use for up to three books, kept on the device you added them on. Precy Premium removes the limit and adds iCloud sync, and costs $1.99 per month or $12.99 per year.
It is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation, and it renews at the same price each period until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before a period ends, in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions; cancelling stops the next charge and you keep Premium until the period you have paid for runs out. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by us.
Nothing you have added is ever taken away or made unreadable if you stop paying. Your books, notes and recaps stay on the device and stay exportable. What lapses is the ability to add a fourth book and to keep syncing to iCloud.
Precy is updated, and features may change or be withdrawn as it develops. Anything you have already added stays yours and stays readable. Because no software is a guarantee, keep your own export of anything you would be sorry to lose.
